Stage 2 Water Restrictions begin July 17, 2024: The La Veta Town Board voted to enact Stage 2 Water Restrictions effective today, July 17, 2024, until further notice. What does Stage 2 Water Restrictions mean? It means if your address ends with an even number you may water on even numbered days and if your address ends with and odd number you may water on odd numbered days. Watering times shall be between 6:00am and 9:00am or between 6:00pm and 9:00pm in the evening. If you have any questions please contact Town Hall at 719-742-3631.

Update on the La Veta Revitalizing Main Street Project

On Tuesday, 6/11/2024, the Town and members from our engineering firm met with representatives from CDOT to review initial plans for the Revitalizing Mainstreet project. The proposed improvements will enhance aesthetics, provide better traffic control, and increase downtown parking. The fact that Main St. is also a section of state highway CO 12 requires the project plans be reviewed and approved by CDOT. The CDOT representatives participating in Tuesday’s meeting responded positively to the initial plans and raised no significant questions or issues. The outcome of the meeting indicates the Town can reasonably anticipate CDOT clearance and approval in time to support releasing the project for bids early next year for an April 2025 start of construction.
