MYTH: Trees don't need water in the winter.
FACT: Winter drought is a silent killer for trees! While they may look like they are sleeping, the roots below ground are still working hard.

If we go 2+ weeks without snow or rain, your trees are at risk of root damage or "winter burn" (especially those beautiful evergreens!).
How to save your trees in 3 steps:
Check the weather: Wait for a warm day (40°F+) so the water soaks in instead of freezing.
Go slow: Use a soaker hose or a slow trickle at the drip line (not the trunk!).
The Rule of Thumb: Aim for about 10 gallons of water for every inch of the trunk's diameter.
Tag a neighbor who loves their garden!
